Batang Mansisibak

            Some of our countrymen  don't mind in throwing their garbage and waste materials, but there are also people who give importance to it. They are called as "mansisibak". Mansisibak means person who pick/collect  garbage or waste materials.
             one of  batang mansisibak are Buboy and his brother, their family lived near Manila Bay, were they can get "sibak" or plastics/garbage. Early in the morning this two young boy went to gutter of Manila Bay they need to undressed first before they swim in the water to collect waste and sell it to the junk shop. The get money from it and buy junk food as a reward to themselves. The remaining money will be given to their mother to add up in their budget for food.
              This two young boy is really amazing. they take their health as a risk in change of small amount of money and at their very young age they worked already to help their parents. But on the other hand I was sad for them, it seems that they don't have choice but to face the sad reality life. instead of staying at Manila Bay picking p waste/ garbage materials, at their age they must be in school to become knowledgeable and learn many things regarding attitudes, academics,and confidence. They have the right to experience being a student and enjoy their childhood.
               May the government help the poor specially the children. According to our constitution the state shall defend the right of the children to assistance,including proper care and nutrition,and special protection from all forms of neglect,abuse, cruelty,exploitation,and other condition prejudicial to their environment

                       Batang  Kalabaw is a documentary made by Jay Taruc. Its all about the children who worked at their very young age. These young people had experienced scarcity of food and lack of money to sustain their living that's why they were forced to work.

                         We all know that if we work we will get rewards or payment in the end, but this young people in order for them to earn money they will first suffer in looking good wood and sell it. They will also encounter difficulty in going up and going down the mountain, because of its location and climate change and lastly they risk their safety as well as their health. In the end after a long day, they will receive the payment, a payment just enough to buy a candies and junk food.

                    This documentary revealed the reality of life. It proved that our community consists of upper class, middle class, and the poor. This video used in order for us to be aware in our country's  major problem.....  ......POVERTY ! In my own reflection, I was blessed because my everyday living is quiet far from them. After watching this video I realized a lot of things, It awakens my students mind regarding how to spent money wisely, love my parents, always give thanks to God, be resourceful and many more.
